The EWF idea, simply put, is always making an effort to see a good in the midst of all the bad.
The ’empty world’ is a fantasy that most people fall back to, the moment things seem bleak or something that they want hasn’t happened in a long time, or they just feel down as a result of one thing or the other which we can all relate to right? But then they give up altogether and lose hope and eventually their world turns “empty’. I too have had my share of these experiences and I want to tell you, it’s not the end of the world. At least it doesn’t have to be.
We are often so consumed by ourselves and taken by our role in this world that we often forget the part of us that takes no sides at all. The part that’s just as neutral as the wind. Wind doesn’t care whether it puts you down or lifts you up, all the wind does is blow. You remember when you were a kid and all you wanted to do was play? didn’t matter if it was safe or dangerous because even without knowing it at the time, you understood it was impossible to hold on to life, no matter how hard you tried.
The more we grow, the deeper we suppress that playful part of us and start to build another version, one that conforms more with the rules that prevail, a more presentable version you could call it. The more comfortable and attached we get to our surroundings in this version, the deeper it gets and the more we never want anything to change.
Have you ever caught yourself staring at the world and seeing everything but yourself? Times where you forgot about ‘you’ and just marveled at the world. Most times there’s no attainable description attached to this feeling, you just feel. We’ve been programmed from a young age to watch from inside out, so much so that we rarely stop to watch from outside in. Some don’t even know how to do it. Some don’t even know what it means at all.
We’ll talk more on that, just stick around. It’s much simpler to view ourselves as meddling and toggling with things than to picture ourselves as part of a bigger process in which things are being toggled and meddled with. It’s true we can only see things from one perspective, but with a little practice, we can learn how to recognize ourselves amidst the bigger picture.
We like to think and talk about us, plan things out in the spirit of ‘proceeding with caution’ and ‘being ourselves’. Not our fault. It had been instilled in us way before we even knew what instilled meant. So the main idea about what we are here to do is revive the ‘you’ I was talking about, the one that has been suppressed beyond easy reach, in order to live a life where we’re actually easier on ourselves.
Life is pretty hardcore already right? So why be hard on ourselves. It’s a weird concept to some people reading this, it’s okay. Life is pretty weird. Think about how we’re made directly from materials in our environment but still think we are different from them. This here is my own personal visual appreciation rubric if you like, and I want you to embrace that part of you also. I’m only here to tell you how I see things and then you also tell me how you see things. That’s all. Let’s do this!
