Let Yourself

This is our own safe space for reconditioning; from all the many years we’ve been told to ‘be ourselves’, and ‘be different’, act freely, be natural and all that crap, oblivious to both the teller and the told, everything about the traps of double binds that are embedded in all of those instructions and how we ourselves have rigged the game of life to our own mutually assured destruction.

The experience of life’s joy is the foremost reason we come into being and are one with the universe. Broadly speaking, it’s also the reason we possess similar characteristics with most of all living things, and even some non-living things. Slowing down and having this experience has become the most difficult thing to do in our immediate everyday moments because we’re always longing for a better tomorrow or a shinier future that we lose sight of what’s right there in front of us.

Sides of a coin

We’ve been made to believe that we’re somehow separate from this world, and that our purpose is to get something out of it before we die, or have an edge or advantage over it as we live out our days. We forget that all edge is found in the world and will be left with the world when we die so as long as we have life, we have edge and it is therefore useless spending our days chasing it around.

There is no advantage without disadvantage, just two different but inseparable sides of the same coin, just like birth and death, and right and wrong as there cannot be one without the other. Millions of other polar concepts that couldn’t exist without what it posits as the exact opposite.

Trying to think about anything other than the universe would require thinking about it with something other than the universe. For example, the brain is used for thinking and the brain consists of elements found within the universe, then it’s only natural that the brain operates within the confines of said universe. Talk about trying to go out further than far or as Alan Watts puts it, trying to “see the I that knows me when I know that I know that I know”.

"No matter what you think of yourself, it's just a version. Different people have different versions of you in their heads, and no two are the same so why keep one for yourself also. Why assume a version when you possess the ONE".

If we do this, we would essentially be trying to play ‘IT’ – IT being the Godhead that exists deep within each of us whether we know it or not. It’s more revealed to some than others but Mr Alan says ”you don’t come on stage to play IT, just because you know you’re it! You come on stage to show on, not to show off”. If you do this, then you’re just assuming another role, equally as great as the previous or ‘ordinary’ one. The sweet spot is in knowing who and/or what you really are, and still being able to manoeuvre your role to perfection and find joy in your everyday moments in it as if you didn’t. It’s no wonder the movie industry keeps making such big moves.

Speaking of movies, take a script which is conceptually different from the characters in it and even the scenery and story line, but still these elements are inseparable. They all come together to make one thing. The script is the consciousness portrayed as different characters, with different attributes, roles, different names, attending different schools, living different lives, some strangers to some and friends with others but all just inseparable cogs in one single wheel of consciousness, the script.

You put different sentient, codependently reproductive but independent sources of unprovoked action together in a space and let things play out at random for long enough, eventually they become more cohesive without any written script.

The Ego Loop

The ego, the thing that makes us feel different from everything that we’re a part of, is only ever so powerful in its ignorance. It’s time to step out of the dark and use the ego self to our full advantage, knowing it’s only a part of our whole selves and not all there is to us. As most people like to put it, it is the centre of decision making, yet why is it impossible to instruct the adrenal glands to secrete on demand or better still, know how we send cerebrospinal fluid across/ the brain to flush out toxic waste during deep sleep.

Getting rid of the ego self is another ball game entirely because it has been solidified deep into our systems from a very young age. if you forcefully try to do that, then it gets even harder to do. The path to be taken is the path of least resistance. As Mr Alan says, you don’t get rid of an illusion by grabbing it physically, do you?

What we’re going to be doing is mining into uncharted lands in the mind upon which both right and wrong ideals have been built, as there is no distinction between a good seed and a bad one if they both are on infertile land. EWF isn’t here just to uproot your seeds for disposal, it’s here for those who feel like something just isn’t right, who feel out of place in every place, feel separate from the rest of the world and just find it hard to convince themselves that the little things matter. Let us walk the earth together and see what kind of mines have been planted in our minds that make us walk on egg shells around ourselves. No matter what is said here, only you can truly defuse. Let’s do this!
