WHAT I'M ABOUT
Instead of telling you a bunch of stories about me and giving history lessons that potentially nobody cares about, how about I tell you what I’m about instead. I’m on a journey back in time, which to me isn’t so different from moving forward in time. It’s all about perspective right. You could go back in time a million different times and still learn a new thing every time you jump, all you’d have to do was ‘look’. For without looking, you cannot appreciate and I mean that in every sense of that word. If we never know when we die, and our journey seems so incomplete when it does happen, isn’t it more worthwhile to cherish the little precious moments we have than spend many long days that don’t matter much to us? Because in the end, one minute with a loved one takes up more space in our head than a whole year with a not so loved one.
Given that time always moves forward, that automatically means the human and his environment move forward with time always. Although some humans would prefer to move forward in time in slightly different ways but nevertheless, moves forward. Now with this in mind, it means it takes extra effort to be mindful of things happening around us during these times as they move like waves in the sea. We need that extra effort to discern what truly matters to us and make sure not to lose sight of it. If we do, it’ll move forward with the waves of time and we’d begin to chase the future endlessly. The best example I can think of is people saying they ‘work for a brighter future’, and then spend all that money they earn trying to secure an even brighter future. Future never becomes present for most because they never look.
Thinking about all these, I decide to use time, not just spend it. I decide how I move forward and backwards in time by being mindful of every moment, or at least as much as I can. Some moments I dwell on and some I move on. The frequency at which this should be done should come as naturally as the east wind, no method or process required. All you need to do is be mindful. Anyone can do it. Even you, yes! It isn’t some practice you have to spend 6 months in the jungle for, or live alone on a mountain nowhere on the map. Nope! Just relax and try to be mindful of your environment as much as you can. No need to try too hard!
I would love to see things through your eyes also, so please be in touch and let’s do this! I hope that was a fun read.
